Licentiateship of the City & Guilds of London Institute in Science Laboratory Technology

Licentiateship is a City & Guilds Senior Award that provides formal recognition of professional expertise and personal skills at the higher levels. Licentiateship is recognised at the level of Master Craftsman in Europe or National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 4.

  • Membership of the Institute of Science Technology, 1998
 
Industrial achievement:
An agreed form of recognition or proof of at least five years relevant work experience in industry, commerce or the public services.

Standard:
Fulfilled two key requirements:
  • The ability to understand and practise the principles of a technical or professional activity (demonstrated in the context of advanced education and training and/or of employment)
  • The ability to demonstrate achievement of a range of pre-defined personal skills and specific competence.

Academic Dress:
Approved to wear a black stuff gown of the Cambridge B.A. shape with a white cloth hood of the full shape, unlined and bound with spectrum red 2" each side round the cowl and cape. A black cloth mortar board with a black tassle is worn.
